Vera M. Cardinal - Elders Wisdom Council

Treaty No. 6 Territory

Vera M. Cardinal, Cree from Saddle Lake Cree Nation in Treaty No. 6 Territory. She is an Educator with 22 years of teaching experience and administration in K4- grade 5 at Onchaminahos School.

Most importantly, she and her husband Armand have been blessed with three children who are caring adults today, and they also have a beautiful granddaughter.

She is grateful to her late parents, family, and friends who encouraged and supported her in her ways of being a nehiyaw iskwew.

She completed her Bachelor of Education in 2001, and in 2013 she completed her Master of Education in Indigenous Peoples Education.

Currently, Vera is the Principal and enjoys working in this field, and it gives her great pleasure to see all the students who attend Onchaminhos succeed and learn their ways of being and knowing, nehiyaw awâsisak!
