Freedom Train Tour
2012
Keepers of the Athabasca rode the Freedom Train in 2012 with the Yinka Dene Alliance against tar sands pipelines on First Nation lands. The Freedom Rally was held at Jasper Train Station on April 30 and Keepers of the Athabasca hosted the Freedom Train Feast in Edmonton on May 1.
About the Freedom Train
The Yinka Dene Alliance took a Freedom Train across Canada to enforce their legal ban on the Enbridge Northern Gateway oil pipelines and tankers project, and to stand up for their freedom to choose their own future. A large delegation of Yinka Dene travelled with allied First Nations from their traditional territories in northern BC all the way to Toronto, with stops along the way.
